High profile media personality Jennifer Hansen graduated from Melbourne University with an Arts degree, majoring in English Literature and Criminology. She accepted a cadetship (starting immediately!) at Channel Ten while completing her final year. She described it as a tough year doing both – studying full-time and working five days a week, but it was worth it, to finally complete her degree (and pass!) and to start working in the television industry. She went on to take up positions at the Southern Cross and Sunday Observer newspapers.
Jennifer is, however, best known as the face of Channel Ten news in Melbourne along with Mal Walden where she hosted the main news bulletin for more than a decade.
Jennifer has a very keen interest in the environment and her creative talents include oil painting, playing the piano and flute. She is a bright personality with a wealth of experience in television presenting. She has done regular spots on Good Morning Australia and when Channel 10 hosted the Spring Racing Carnival she hosted fashions on the field. She has also worked as a fill-in for the late night news nationally and during 1994 she worked as a presenter and journalist on 10’s ‘Alan Jones Live’which was a national program. She appears constantly in the magazines and is well liked and respected by the general public.
